Sixteen-year-old Rio Ngumoha has quickly impressed at Liverpool with his skill and composure.
After joining from Chelsea, he spoke about how a moment of advice from former Reds star had a lasting impact on his mindset and confidence.
He revealed that Raheem Sterling once told him, “When you lose the ball, make sure you stay in the game.” (via TalkSPORT)
Ngumoha said that hearing such guidance from someone who had taken the same path into Liverpool’s first team left a strong impression.
“He is telling me that he can see what I am good at… I was like ‘wow.’”
Ngumoha added that Sterling’s words still drive how he trains and performs every day.
